The Perri’s Leather Billet Guards are an English saddle accessory that helps protect your saddle from excess wear. The billet guard fits onto the three saddle billets under each flap, providing a barrier between the straps and the saddle. The Leather Billet Guards from Perri’s Leather have two rows of three slots at the top of the leather piece. Thread the far left billet strap down into the first slot on the left so the strap will end up on the underside of the guard. Do this for the remaining two billets and you’re all set. You can also thread the straps up through the top slot then back down through the slot directly below it, which will keep the billet guard from sliding. Every rider has their preference! The billet guard helps prevent strap marks and buckle damage to your saddle.
